Symphony Honolulu continues to grow. Concrete floors have been poured through level 27. If you're driving by and looking skyward this week, the window wall glazing system is being installed on the 21st level.

The podium has reached full height at 7 levels, and work on the swimming pool and grand terrace amenity level will begin in the coming weeks. Inside, workers are busy installing interior walls, paint and cabinets on levels 8 through 20.

April 22 is Earth Day. Symphony Honolulu is the first residential condominium tower in Kakaako to be designed according to the U.S. Green Building Council's Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design LEED® green building program, placing this community at the forefront of transforming the way buildings are designed, constructed, maintained and operated in Honolulu.

To celebrate Earth Day, we wanted to share some of the green features found at Symphony Honolulu:

* Water efficient fixtures, helping to provide a 35% reduction in the building’s baseline water usage.
* Photovoltaic panels serving the building’s common areas, reducing electricity costs for the Association.
* All living spaces placed along full height floor-to-ceiling windows, allowing for daylighting and views.
* Walk Score (94 of 100): Walkability means being near the places and people you love, while having a variety of transportation choices for getting around the city, and a more enjoyable commute.
* Covered parking over all parking stalls, helping to reduce the urban heat island effect.
* Project goal of 50-75% recycled construction waste during construction, lessening the impact on our island's landfills.
